Your main activities as VAT Compliance Manager Consultant

• Compliance review: Critical review of VAT returns, ECSLs, EPLs, Intrastats, Annual Returns (and otherrelevant filings) prepared by the co-sourcing partners (BIG4 and Genpact) and verify the questionedtransactions.
• Review month-end VAT account reconciliations and VAT accounts clearing proposals.
• Increase accuracy: Identify and mitigate gaps in the end-to-end processes leading up to the preparationand filing of VAT declarations (S2P, O2C, inter-co).
• Data analysis: Provide solutions to VAT issues both re-actively and proactively. Provide internal andexternal audit support, including data preparation, review and analysis.
• Internal controls: Management of monthly/quarterly/yearly activities to ensure strong internal controls arein place. Accurate and timely reporting to meet statutory and internal deadlines.
• Team: Manage the relationship with the co-sourcing partners. Seek further improvements and tasks thatcan be delivered more efficiently with partners or internally. Support the Indirect Tax Team with variousprojects and provide support to other tax colleagues, business and finance groups.
• Strategy: Working with Global Tax on projects, strategies to improve controls and reduce risk. Supportbusiness growth and on-boarding of new companies and entities (if required).
• Monitoring: monitoring relevant VAT changes (VAT rates, E-Invoicing mandates, E-reporting etc) and actupon it accordingly. 

The requirements for this positions of VAT Compliance Manager are : 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law and/or Taxation or a related field.Experience Required:
• 3-8 years of relevant professional indirect tax experience, either in-house or consulting, with a focus onPan-EU or global compliance management.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses/ Certifications needed : 

• Working knowledge of EU VAT
• Experience with VAT reconciliations
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel.
• SAP (VAT-related) experience is considered key for a successful candidate 
• Commitment towards a demanding work environment in terms of work efficiency and quality
• Team player with strong communication, networking and influencing skills
