how much am I allowed to work as a student in Belgium?
As a student you may work 600 hours per year, freely selectable over the entire calander year. This llows you to enjoy reduced social contributions. If you work more than 600 hours pers year, you'll pay the normal social contributions.

how much do I earn?
It depends on the sector you work in as a student. Within a sector, collective labour agreements may be concluded in which the (minimum) wage is agreed. If no employment agreement has been concluded within the sector, your salary will be set on the basis of the guaranteed minimum wage.

I'm graduating, can I still work as a student?
If you stop studying in June, July or August, you can still work as a student during the summer holidays. After that holiday period, i.e. after 30 September, you can no longer work as a student.

do my parents pay more taxes if I work as a student?
It depends on how much you earn as a student. If you work as a student in 2024, you will remain a tax dependent of your parents if you are still part of the family in January 2025. And your net taxable income maxes out at €7,290.
